Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

At the moment I have to use a bathroom scale lol. There are better ones out there and somewhere someone posted links to good ones.

I just use my home scales I got from Goodwill. Their old school doctor's scales with the slide weights. Today's digital scales are fairly accurate.
Then I weigh myself without the bird, then weigh myself with the bird. And subtract the two.

I use a baby scales  it works pretty good.
I kick myself quite often about that. I had an old baby scales I've had since my 38 year old was a baby. Guess what? I got rid of it 3 years ago. I kept that thing around for 35 years and just before I needed it, I got rid of it! LOL. Got a bid in on ebay for a postal scales. Goes to 86 lbs so I can use it for tons of different things.

Thanks Don. I was very curious about this. Very useful information.
Don, I agree. I never am concerned with to much weight but I did weigh mine before this show I am at today ca use they felt to light after the molt and they need some weight on them. One weighed a bit over 8 and the other two were a little less. I am used to around 10 for hens and I have had up to 12 lb. Probably not healthy at that size

Don by the way, I saw the best buff bantam orps I have ever seen last nite. Charles Logan had them. I don't know where he got them but I will find out today. Beautiful color and type. Only a handful of bantam Orps being show. Seems this is OEG bantam country here. I did meet a nice fellow and his wife with some really cute cornish bantams

We just got our very first chickens! We got 4 buff Orps that are 6-9 months old. We got them on Craigslist. I don't know anything about their breeding. We got them for eggs and as pets. I don't know much about chicken type/confirmation. Can you guys let me know what you think of these girls.

They are named Lemon, Cricket, Popcorn & Twinkie. I don't know how to insert the actual pic into the thread yet.
