How old are they ? When did you worm them last ? Wazine does not count ! You need to use Safeguard 10% liquid Goat Wormer at 1 TEASPOON per gal of water for 3 days. New solution every day, repeat in 10 days.Thinking of weight and birds that feel way to light. I want to fatten my birds up( I like fat orps) but I seem to have a hard time doing it. Any hints or suggestion?
They have a bin full of layer crumble that they free feed on , plus I give them extra scratch, oaks, millets, & I never thought I would do it, but I bought them "MEAL WORMS". And who knew dead bugs are kind of expensive too.![]()
Buff Orp babies 9 days old. I have 4 babies 2 are feathering really fast and two are just working on the wing feathers. So in your experience do pullets feather faster?
this one is a little smaller but has wings and tail feathers starting
This one is a little bigger but not so much feathering happening

Way to light might not be good.I try and keep my orps thay are laying a little on the thin side. If I feed them all they want, my egg production goes down. Most egg crumbles is a complete ration. Thats all I feed, I give soaked oats once a week for a snack. If it gets very cold I give a little scratch or corn in late afternoon. Being able to run out would be good, but mine are in pens and stay there. Like dragonlady said, worming is very important and use a good wormer, that could be the problem.Thinking of weight and birds that feel way to light.
