I cant tell children what I think of Bella, ever 2 or 3 pages it would be a picture of Bella fighting another hen! I cant exactly say "Today, Bella was a little B"!!

Here are my buff orpingtons in a little hole i dug in the dirt. I put a little sand in it. They love to squeeze into the hole together : )

The Lucasville Ohio show is this weekend. I can not go, but for those who are close, this maybe the biggest show of the season in these parts of the country. I am having Doug take 2 of my spare White Orp cockerels to give to a good fellow White breeder Jerry Powell to give him some needed vigor to add to his stellar line of Whites at Lucasville.
I got this White Orp hen from Jerry 3 years ago at our Indiana State Fair poultry Show. Jerry is a good guy. We need as many quality White Orp breeders that are out there willing to spend time and money to raise great Whites. Jerry's line would die off unless he gets some new blood. I am giving him these cockerels. One is from the White Wyandotte pullet from last year the other cockerel is from Joyce's Buff Sports. Both have Harry's huge White cock as their daddy. Their definitely generation one in quality. I expect to up the quality this season as I am taking Harry's cock back to 10 of his daughters. And amazingly Harry's cock has kept 9 of the 10 girls with him laying fertile eggs. Whatta great boy he is. I am also taking one of the 2 White Orp cockerels from last season who is from the Wyandotte hen to my 2 Pontious White pullets, and one of the 2 girls from the fella up north line of Whites. I hatched out 45 chicks so far. Many many more to hatch soon. Just loaded up 4 dozen more eggs last nite in the incubator.

Jerry's girl is a knock out. I am more then happy to help Jerry. I also promised him a decent trio of my White chicks for him to pick up at this year's State Fair. Still too cold and the chicks are too young to risk sending them with Doug to Jerry for this weekends big show.

I think these boys will help out Jerry.

This White would have been culled, so I gave him to Jerry as well for back up. He is from the White Wyandotte hen. He has been picked on by his 2 bigger brothers. So his tail is not as nice as it should be. Get him to himself and I am sure he will be worth keeping as a back up.
