Put something on it and leave it open for a day. Never takes them long to figure out feeders.I just need to teach them how to use it now!

Not really at first. They do become easier to pick up though if they're squatting for you. After laying a bit, they do get tamer.Why do chickens suddenly get tamer when they start to squat

I have some I ordered and hatched myself born in May and some have darker feathers sprouting in the tail end (assuming these are roo's)?
