Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

I read somewhere that with the green sheen comes a purple sheen i cant remember if it was genetics or nutrition or what but in spots my black leghorn has a line of purple sheen in its feathers.

Joel, I won't breed that particular pullet back in. She will be sold. I don't to do it again on purpose. She is very odd looking. I much prefer just straight black. She does look purple when you look at her. sort of brown/purple

Bamma I agree, can you please move closer. lolol I love them Blacks you posted. Yet alone them Charlie kids!!!

I'm worried about my lavender cockerel. his eye is swollen and has blood on the eye lid. it is too swollen for me to see if he eyeball is OK. I cleaned the blood off, and there is a small tear in the lower eye lid. I think somebody pecked him.

He is acting fine, but ..... He is isolated and i mixed him up some antibiotics and poltri drench. he is eating and drinking fine.

Muddyhorse good idea to keep him away till he heals up. IF they see blood they peck the turds outta of him. I had a SS run into the fence before a show while I tried to catch her. She was fine till a half hour before the judging. And it puffed up. Judge wrote EYE? Dang bird. Once she got home, the next morning she is fine. lolol\\
Good luck.

Get some terramycin eye salve or Garamycin eye drops and hold a warm cloth on for a little while then put drops in. Should make a difference by morning. This is a two man job. I live near jeffers vet supply but sometimes I just go to my pharmacist who is not a chain store and tell them what I need and what it is for and they sell it to me and I give them updates on how it works. We don't have a vet in this area that will see a chicken.

Bill those are some nice chicks

Julie I really like those two girls. Especially the Charlie girl. Being a splash, I am almost forced to go back to a Black. Your Tubby boy I hatched or maybe Feran. I am working on being very picky over my tails in my breeders. just love this splash girl. She'll be spread over Doc first off though. Then the other two boys
