Thank you Julie. He is built like Doc. Just a little tank of a boy. I am just now getting them out of my brooder room.
I seem to have a ton of boys. I'll have alot to choose from. And I am just now getting some Blues. Luckily I have alot of boys already. I can see many getting culled for various reasons. I will be culling early and heavy.

Okay, I have decided this is my favorite black Tubby cockerel. I am definitely keeping him. He was 5 months old yesterday.

He looks wonderful Julie. I think you should keep Tubby going to make some more like this guy. It is nice to have a bird make it easy to decide. This guy has it all going on!

Julie,
So, did it take the full 5 months to make this decision? I am looking at mine, and trying to see who to cull. Yet, at 3 months old (14 weeks) I am quite unsure. Do I just need to be more patient, and wait it out?

Kathy, yes, and older sometimes unless they have and obvious fault. Like much smaller or droopy wings or wrong eye color, or something like that. I have already culled some before now. Size was a factor. Width for me is a factor. Legginess is a factor. forgot to say Tail

I'm going to put this little (well deffinately not little) guy in an auction. I'd love to see him go to someone that is working on a breeding program. His chest is massive and he's a sweet chicken. You can see from the pictures he's big for his age. I weighed him and he's 1.5 lbs. at 7 1/2 weeks old!!! He's from a hatch I did with Hinkjc eggs.

It's funny a friend was over when he hatched. He came out so strong, standing right away, no flopping around and with a comb! We knew he was a rooster then!
