Post Pics Of Orps/ Orpingtons HERE

Aveca she is very pretty and large.

Joy you know i will share. Love your Winston and Clementine. They are huge and I need some of that size.

Thanks, I actually had 6 just like her some were a year old which would have been perfect , but bless his heart, pastor Romig is an older man and computers and things arnt his thing, they all corrospond through that poultry magazine , he called left a message or 2 that my birds were here, but problem is, my answering machine has a very long pause befor the beep, so he was leaving the message well befor the beep and I wasnt getting them, so he figured I wasnt interested anymore..so they sold them , He asked faulkners to keep one back just in case I called..Wished I could have gotten all of them...
My husband said WOW thats a huge bird, he calls her jumbotron. and funnier yet her eggs as big as she is are no bigger than the australorps, he thought she was going to lay an osttrige egg, hee hee.

Quite a compliment coming from you, Thanks so much...Well Hopefully things around here will improve over the next few years being built one peice at a time..

Rumor has it the origional breeder has started an australorps improvement breeding program befor he got ill and didnt see it through , couldnt find what he was looking for here so bought some birds from canada. but sadly had to get rid of them all . Just something I heard through the grapevine. This bird was intended to work both his blk orps and the australorps.

Would have LOVED to have gotten a Blk orp cockeral to go with her. I would have continued his work If I could have gotten my hands on the whole group, but Like I said, our communications broke down due to excessivly long delay befor answering machine beeped. Darn it..I had the money set aside for a long time waiting for this group of birds, But Im sure grateful to get even one.

I dusted her with poultry lice mite powder, Hate using those things but for her sake and mine just in case she had any lurking things thou she didnt look like she did...Just didnt want to take any chances , she rode with a large number of birds from OK to here..was in quarentine and they recomended that she gete dusted as a precaution with all those feathjers, lots of places for things to hide. She got a good pat down even under wings and bottom..I even put vaseline on her legs as a precaution just in case there were any leg mites, thou she looked fine, you never know, it doeasnt take long for one or 2 to make thousands. I do that to mine in the roost every spring just to ward off any thing from starting.

All that work to build him a nice roost... Guess he just is a bit lonely. wants to stay close to his gal. They sure look good!

Thanks Jim. I appreciate all your harwork even if the roo doesn't. I've tried putting him on it at night too but with my night schedule I can't do t enough days in a row to make it consistent so I just gave up. It's funny cuz when the other hen was still around they both slept in front of the sliding door on the other end of the coop. Some protector he is makin the ladies take night watch! Ha. He's a good daddy though and watches the chicks
