Here is Splash Cock from UK. He is a friend of mines. Posting so Bill can see his color. Yours is definitely a splash and not blue

Plus he awesome and I thank you! I will do him right. Three separate pens of hens that he will cover in three day shifts. And I do like moving and shuffling all my Black/Blue cocks around for breeding. I imagine he will see every Black pullet and hen I own by the end of next season. It will be a blast!
OH that Splash you have is fantastic! How old? 6 months? He is huge!

I know I love your boy you gave me, DOC. I moved him last weekend into the pen with his sis, you gave me last fall, and two of the pullets from last years hatch of my Black hens in with Carlos.
DOC has spent the whole summer with the top four Black hens. Unfortuanately two of them went broody and shut things down for a month and a half.
But, they started up about 5 weeks ago & here is one from a small hatch of chicks with my best 4 Black hens and DOC. The fella (maybe a girl) is early. I hate it when it happens that way.

Forgot to say, I'll take Hoss off your hands IF you have any trouble keeping up with feeding that tank. lolol

A Black DOC boy. I snagged him out late last nite for a quick pic.

It was dark in the room and he had his head laid down for some reason

He's going to be a big boy. Just looking at his feet. Their about as big as some of the older juvie boys
No name YET.

Todays photos of Julia I hatched her from Gumpsgirls eggs, she's 5 months now - she was the runt of the hatch and is now finally getting some girth on her...still no tail

And what is up with the straight feathers on her wings versus all the other fluff...I guess since the breed is still in project stage it's to be expected??

And a picture with another lavender I got from Urbanfarmboi - Luna is almost 7 months...no eggs yet..but soon

Cheryl, that is a really nice lav orp girl.

The wing feathers look normal to me, but she is not holding them up like she is supposed to.

I would just keep an eye on it as she matures. It could have been the heat, so see how she holds it when it's cooler out.

Hey Cheryl, their a really nice looking young pair. Did you mix in UK blood? Their fluffy! I have some birds that inherited the droopy wing feather trait. And you can see that post where I show the granny and the kids. Some have it and some don't. I would use her and cull heavy on it next generation. Seems the bigger fluffier of my Buffs have that too. CULL CULL CULL next year.
