There will probably be packing peanuts as well. I will get some photos posted of them when they arrive.
I also have some photos of ideal stock that I received last summer that I will post when I get them gathered together.
Here are the pictures of the stock I got from Ideal Poultry in late summer of last year (2011). I purchased 5 California Whites (might have gotten the Ideal 236 instead), 5 Production Blacks, and 5 Surprise pullets. One barred chick was dead on arrival, and two were splay-legged (which we fixed). Ideal was nice when I called and gave me a credit for two chicks, and the two splay-leggeds healed up with some bandaid splints with no problems. One of the really friendly California Whites killed itself jumping against the door (at one month old) when I came in to feed them (she would jump out on my arm to eat food out of my hand every day).
We ended up not keeping any of the production Blacks past a month or so because they were just so dang hyper and not people friendly at all. We also didn't keep one of the surprise pullets that was barred (also super hyper and not friendly).
*Only the chickens labeled in the pics below are from Ideal Poultry.*
Below are pics of 2 California Whites and 2 of the Production Blacks that we re-homed.
Below is Butterball the Buff Orpington who was a surprise pullet. She is a super friendly chicken.
Hannibal was the other suprise pullet. She is fairly friendly, and easy to pick up, but doesn't go out of her way to be near people.
You can see both of our California Whites in the picture also. They are always wanting to know what's going on.
A pic of Friendly as a young pullet.
Alrighty, here's the same chickens from Ideal this past summer (2012) at one year old.
All of them are really people friendly. The Buff Orp will allow petting, the Plymouth Rock
follows my son like a dog, and the Cali Whites are into every snack you bring outside before
it leaves your hands. The Ameraucana is easily picked up, but also prefers my son over me
(This is my nephew in the pictures).
As you can see from the picture below, the Plymouth Rocks from them are great for kids.
Thanks for looking at my wonderful chickens! Hope this helps!
Here are my chicks from Ideal on November 8 2012, this last week.
I ended up getting:
-2 black-tailed buff japanese
-2 black-tailed white japanese
-2 mille fleur d'uccles
-2 porcelain d'uccles
-2 red pyle old english game bantams
-2 surprise bantams this week (the surprises ended up being a black silkie (that died a couple hours after arriving) and a buff bantam cochin (I think)).
-8 packing peanuts that I think are RIR. I gave all but one (that my son couldn't part with) away to a neighbor. It is the big fat one in the pictures below.
