Post pics of your chicks thread!!!

We got nine new babies to add to our flock: 4 black astralorps and 5 bantams of uncertain breed--the store didn't specify what variety they were, but we have a few theories.

They've been excellent models.

Is it bad i'm getting my chicks in June?

No, I'm getting my next batch mid-May. You can get chicks anytime of the year they're available or if you hatch your own or mama does the job for you (definitely the way to go, easiest and precious to see the interaction between mama and babies). During the colder months, you just have to be really sure they stay warm and their water is warm. During the warm months, you just have to make sure they don't over-heat. Watch out! You'll get addicted to chickens and Chicken Math will hit ya! Check out that thread. So many funny, but relateable, stories!

Here is my one year old ladies, party of six Rhode Island Reds ;-)

What fun this experience has been, I have even encouraged a co-worker who had been toying with the idea to give it her best shot this year also ;-) WOO HOO!!

Have a great day ;-)
