Post pics of your chicks thread!!!

Meet Frances (or Francesca, I haven't decided yet). I just got her from a coworker who is downsizing. Isn't she beautiful! He said I could have whichever one I wanted, and she's the one I caught, so I figured she must be the one I wanted.

Well said! Is she a barred rock?

Above is my fave pic so far. Still at 5 chicks, could be more. I don't handle my broodies.

The broody next door went from 2 - 5 chicks this afternoon. Yay!
3rd broody is uncooperative. Brings my count to 11 chicks from 18 eggs so far. Woo hoo!

Yes she is. And even with the stress of moving, and being two years old, she still laid me my first egg today! I'm so proud of her!

What kind of nest is she in?
You need to submit that first pic to some poultry catalogs that have photo contests! Meyer and McMurray are two that do.

These are nest boxes that I bought at the TSC for $24.99 each in Ontario, Canada. I love them, as they are easy to clean. :)
Not sure an American company would accept a Canadian photo entry? Neat idea though! I'll have to check some Canadian catalogs.
