Post pics of your homemade incubator

Well, it's (my version) of a custom cabinet bator, and have quite some time in it so far, but just got back from Iowa, and gotta get back in the bator-buildin' mode. Hope to be through with it by next weekend...........the egg-production-line ladies apparently see an economical upswing! Here's a pic of the 40% version.........(and the wife says "the living room's not a shop".....

..............anyway, it's not where I'm doin' my wood-workin':

Here's mine that I built from scratch a while back. I framed it with 1.5x1.5" spruce, and sandwiched 1.5" rigid foam insulation between shower board on the inside and 3/8" oak plywood on the outside. I bought a heater element/fan setup and digital temp control from Petronics to fire it up. I rigged a pvc framed turner for it. It holds temps rock steady forever and I have hatched a bazillion things in it.

Heater/fan mounted overhead. It's about the size of a Sportsman.

Here's a small cooler bator I made a few years ago holds 100 quail eggs, I have fantastic hatches with this thing probably even more than my cabinet incubator here's a few pics.

Thanks Bill. These long, cold, New England winters keep me cooped up for months so I go down to the basement and build crap. Keeps me out of jail I suppose.

I know exactly what you speak of.... Aint it amazing what a person can dream up to build when left to their own devices... Or stupid crap to do and end up in jail, as you mentioned before... Either way, BEEN THERE, DONE THAT!!

Just think what we could accomplish if a dozen or so of us had unlimited supply of bologna, beer and money, and spent a couple weeks in Randall's shop... Im bett'in we could turn Quail poop into the next super fuel!!! Or the experiment go horribly wrong and we end up in jail cuz we blew something up...Either way, be a nice change of scenery. Bill

As long as you don't hatch in there you should be fine.

Just a side note: You should stand that fan off at least a 1/2 inch, so it can suck and blow.
