post pics of your rescue pets

Here is Bella. Part greyhound and part?? We got her the end of April. You could count her ribs and vertebra. She was also pregnant..she had eight puppies and is an awesome mother. She is awesome around poultry

She weighed over 100 pounds when the vet weighed her before spaying.
Here is a pic of her sitting behind her six month old pup, Bubba grooming him. he has to be chained up during deer season, I am afraid someone might accidently shoot him. His daddy was a purebred Great Pyr. He turned six months old Nov. 13th.

Here is Bella this past summer. I have a recent one on my cell phone I will have to transfer to computer to show you how she is today.

Forgot to add that when we purchased geese late April, Bella was at the farm. She was a stray they were feeding. She bred to their Great Pyr and three weeks after we brought her home she gave us 8 puppies.
Here she is sleeping on her feather-bed that I had to make for her...wrong material..it sends feathers all over the house...I have to redo it.

I finally found a coat large enough to go around her 39 inch chest. She likes it.

Here is my death row rescue-Ben. He is a 115 lb St Bernard Mix who loves to sit on my lap. He also purrs like a cat when he's happy. He is the most gentle dog I have ever owned.

This is Elroy, a 12 year old basset whose owner passed away. The relatives were going to put him down. He is almost blind and would LOVE to eat my chickens.

Our latest addition, Libby, another red and white bassett hound. She is quite the diva. My husband is convinced that there is a human in there since she "talks" all the time.

Thanks orchid. I love my rescues. I have only ever had homeless pets and ususally they find me. My husband was NOT a dog person when we got married, now he loves on all the furry babies and cudldles with them every morning. I love to see a grumpy man turn to mush.

"Trinka" advertised on CL...Felv+, was going to be destroyed if a home not found soon.
An amazing loving kitty. We are so blessed to have her!!

"Birdie", saw her pic on a shelter site in LA. High kill shelter, there 7 days, no holds, horrible kennel cough.
She is my snuggle buddy. Friends come over to see Birdie, not me. Her fave place is my bed pillow

"Steena" was thrown over the fence of someone who did cat rescue. That person begged me to take her
since she couldn't keep a dog in a condo with 40 cats. She's a great guard dog.

"Tagi" came from someone I knew who did pug rescue. She drove her up to my house after I told her I didn't
want her. She put it on thick and I broke down. She's an awesome dog, but this mutt has cost me a fortune in
vet bills. Still, would do it over!

Finally "Tessiemingo". I wanted a little dog to sleep upstairs with my daughter since she's alone up there.
We went to the pound and found this adorable brown terrier. She was terribly matted so we had her groomed
before being spayed. When I picked her up from the vet I said, "This isn't the dog I adopted." Turns out she's
grey, a schnauzer poodle mix. She's trouble, but keeps the gophers and ground squirrel population down. Plus,
she's just super cute!

This is Layla - Shepherd/Chow/Akita mix. We adopted her from the local shelter.

She is the best dog we've ever owned - highly trainable, very smart and eager to please. She is fantastic with the kids and I don't think she'd ever been around kids before we adopted her. My youngest, Ella, can lay on top of her, play with her teeth and pull her tail and Layla has never shown any sign that she's upset. Never growled, never hid, never even looked grumpy at the kids.

Boy does she shed, though!
