Post pics/story of your Pitbulls and pit mixes!!

Thanks. I try to make sure my dogs get the best care possible. When Chaser's mother was a puppy I saved her from Parvo (back when I was a Vet Tech). So when I heard "Storm" was having puppies I had to have one. I picked her out of 11 puppies. I was drawn to her cute face and blue eyes.

This is my 13 year old girl, "Chaser". I did a dental cleaning on her yesterday. She also had bloodwork & x-rays done (b/c of her age).

Awww, I love her eyes. My Boots' eyes are blue, but they don't have the shades that Chaser's does <3 I'm really sad that I have to rehome my girl... She's been clearing out our flock one by one because the kids won't stop letting her out when nobody's watching

Twizzle have you tried training her to be around the chickens?
Sorry you have to rehome her :(

She ignores them when we are watching her, but when nobody is around that's when she does it. We've tried training her, and nothing seems to work. I think she just tries to play with them and it ends up hurting them, but I'm not sure. It'd be one thing if it was just a chicken now and then, but last year she got both of our geese, which caused the younger members of the family a lot of sadness. She hasn't hurt anything since last summer, but it's a little too risky. Does anyone know any ways to stop dogs from hurting poultry? Someone told me to tie the body around their neck until it rots, but that seems inhumane.

That does sound very inhumane to me. And gross!!! If you are home and you let her out but you dont go out with her, will she still hurt them? Maybe you could try a remote controlles shock collar? I know thats inhumane as well but atleast its not hanging a dead rotting bird from your dog. Watch her when shes outside and if she gets close to a chicken, shock her..she would most likey get the hint after acouple of times. I bu all means, do not like shock collars..but if you want to keep your dog, i would look into it.

I think that's a vary good idea. If you could let her out and maybe hide somewhere so she thinks she's alone then shock her when she goes after them. Or there's always the option of caging the bird but if your like me it really sucks to have to do that and not let them free ranger. Good luck with her!!:)
