Arrival story: We were supposed to watch them until there owner make a run for them. A week later they were our ducks. Breeds: The larger black one I think is a Black Swedish and the littler brown one I don't know. Names: Black duckling is named Ebony (the only wood that sinks
) Brown duckling is named Cocoa
Don't know if they are hes or shes yet.
The first day we got them: 1 week and 3 weeks old (I think)
Here are Rainstorm and Lullaby (Mallards), right after I knit a stuffie to keep them company after their little White Mallard brother, Sunshine, died. I got them from a local breeder when my spring order from Sandhill Preservation Center didn't arrive...
But then, surprise! My Sandhill order arrived just as Rainstorm and Lullaby were finishing feathering out! Here they are the day after I brought them home - July 16th (2 Dutch Hookbills, 6 Dark Campbells, 1 White Runner, and 1 Buff Runner):
And here they are again, playing in the yard this week:
And taking a nap once they were all tuckered out...
Meanwhile, Rainstorm and Lullaby are (nearly) all grown up!
I finally took pictures of my little ducks!! I have 4 ducks. 2 brown Runners and 2 fawn and white runners. The 2 brown runners are Strike and Spare. They are almost 4 weeks I think. The fawn and white Runners are Harp and Molson. They are about 2 weeks. I bought the the two brown ones and hatched the two fawn and white ones myself!
