Post Predator Attack - Irritated Eye, not eating or drinking

Yes actually! Wound is healing up very nicely, the scab fell off the other day so just upkeep with the healing underneath now. Lil guy might have a really solid scar though

His crop is emptying, he’s pooped more this morning than I’ve seen him poop all week actually… and just yesterday he ate a bit of scrambled egg all on his own before deciding ‘nah that’s it you can do the rest’ lol

Hi need to just in here. A friend of my young roo got in fight with another rooster. Eye was picked out any suggestions I can give him would be greatly appreciated.

If you need more assistance, it may be a good idea to start your own thread, post clear photos along with a description.
For eye issues, general care is to rinse/flush eyes with saline, remove any pus, bubbles or debris, then put an ointment like Terramycin eye ointment IN the eye. Do this 2x or more a day.

Hi! I’m so sorry about your friend roo, that’s never fun at all :(

I’ve dealt with a few eye injuries by now, never a whole missing eye but from my basic knowledge i would do what Wyrop suggests!

- Flush the eye / wound with saline solution, make sure it is clean (if you have to clean between moment keep that up)
- treat with terramycin twice daily

Apparently I really cannot catch a break…

Two days ago, a bobcat got into my chicken coop. I lost two of my birds, and yesterday I noticed my tiny little bantam rooster was acting strangely.

One of his eyes was irritated, to which I’ve been treating - and he is keeping his head tucked close to his chest. Additionally, he won’t eat or drink and seems to freak out after a few dropped sips of water. (He very scarily flipped over this morning)

I’ve looked over him multiple times for any external injuries or injuries to the head / neck area but I cannot see any. He can walk but it’s very wobbly and refuses to extend his neck when doing so. I’ll be separating him later once I’m back home as well as providing photos if able, but what else can I do?

Could he have a head injury or be in some sort of delayed shock??
Positive Declan update:

He ate some seed all in his own tonight! More than a whole bite!!
I think he’s finally fed up with me haha, hopefully he can keep it up and improve his balance a bit mot before going home :]

That's good!
Remember to offer him a few pieces of Grit (Crushed Granite) free choice if he's eating seeds, he'll need that to help the Gizzard grind up/process the food.

I have one question...What you do to the Bobcat?
I’m not sure. I think it’s legal where I am to shoot at it with a permit, or at leaf that’s what my uncle has told me considering he’s the one who said he would take care of it 😭😭
I’m not the most familiar with that, so don’t take my word for it. I wasn’t there when it happened either but I’m really really lucky to have people who watch and look out for them well to have caught it early enough to scare it off and not have let it taken anyone on its way out. My babies will NOT be an easy food source if I have anything to say about it! (Going to make even my own life difficult around the run for the sake of their safety) I just wish my birds were closer to me.

Fortunately we haven’t seen it since (THANK GOD, let’s keep it that way) and since then I’ve been focusing all my energy into healing everyone up and like maximum security-ing my run. We’ve since put an electric fence around the outside to discourage anything from going near the coop as well has adding multiple locks to every door to make it a five step process to get in. When I get the chance I’m going to have to get the materials I need to block a small hole too but we haven’t gotten there yet.
