These guys hatched on May 4th… have to think of some Star Wars themed nicknames for them . Today was nice after a rain so I took them out for a few hours. More African x Tolouse crosses hatched by a Wyandotte hen. View attachment 3496527View attachment 3496526

My Star Wars fan of a friend has been begging me to name a goose Mon Mothma so he can call it Mongoose.

Those African genes sure are strong. The patterns look the same to me as my crosses.

They really are. I have some older ones hatched from same parents that still retained that dark pigmentation on their bills and feet, but are turning more gray.

When they hatch there a little more pudgy under the bill than a production. Some within 3 weeks but about 6 is when they are a little more predominate. about 12 weeks I have a good idea if they will develop a good one. But really they get bigger the older they get year by year. This is 3 girls from last year at 8 weeks

What breeds are these that have a dewlap? It’s so cute!
