Kinda funny, she had the old feathers on her back still, with new ones growing in underneath, but the chicks jumping on her back for piggy back rides knocked off the old ones about to molt off...I entered the room that morning & saw what looked like a chicken with a fresh buzz cut & spiked hairdo on her back

Those chicks must be aspiring hair dressers

Chicks have no respect for mom!

Sweet mama hen Chloe, my 2 yr old Ameracauna EE mix, is raising late summer chicks & she is molting. Awww, you're still pretty little mama, new feathers are growing in.
