Post your Chick Pictures Here!!!

That one is a total guess. The hen is a California White and the rooster is a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. I'm trying to develop a more prolific blue egg layer! :) I'm not at all a color genetics whiz but I'm guessing the body will be more white or light wheaten.

Last year I ordered 5 pullets and 1 rooster Buff Orpington. Out of the bunch I have a very broody Buff Orpington hen. Last August she hatched two eggs, naturally one pullet and one rooster. Then she went missing early this year. Our chickens are free range so I thought a predator got her. She showed up one day with 15 babies. I had just received 10 babies from the hatchery and already had 10 other chickens, so hubby said we could not keep them all. We took 10 to our favorite feed store, one dog thought they were fair game for them and got one before I could convince her otherwise and then the final four were given to a friend. Momma chick didn't like that and every time I went out side she came around pecking at me and clucking (fussing) at me. Lately she has been missing again, so we expect her to show up again with another brood. We are going to have to fix a pen just for her to keep her under control and away from the ROOSTER!!! With chickens its almost a different adventure every day. I'll get my husband to help post some pictures.

Post a pic of her and her brood when she comes home. Just be glad she is not your younger sister coming home pregnant again.

Sorry about that. LOL, my younger sis came home to my parents home pregnant, then left the son there and returned home five years later pregnant again. She eventually turned her over to an aunt to raise her. A bit of family drama, and Too much information, I know but I could not resist the association of the gal coming home with babies and leaving again.

This little Girl nearly flew out of the top of the brooder this morning. She was frightened by the border collie that will not stop whining at them ..... SO .......

Now I have an unhappy Border Collie but very safe babies!
