post your chicken coop pictures here!

Tres bien!

Do you not have predators that can lift the hook on the door? Even a strong wind might shake it loose. I had that problem with the double doors on my barn. There is a long piece of wood that pivots to hold the doors closed and LONG hook to keep the board in place. In strong wind, the doors would move enough that the hook would come loose, the board would pivot and the doors would blow open. Not so safe for the chickens then! I now have a hasp with a clip to hold the board in place

This is start of my new coop barn. More done but no pictures yet due to weather.
Looks great! Throw a few roost 2x4's or thick logs in there and call it the day. The only thing I would do is stain the wood if it's not pressure treated on the outside. Looks like you have good ventilation. It's super fun building your coop isn't it! Congrats to you

Hello,

thank you for your comment, I have no problem because I added a small chain hanging next to the door that I surround around the handle and I put after a carabiner to keep everything that is attached, I would put a photo on my blog soon .......

I have had my coop finished for about 8 months now. My chickens will be a year old in March! So far we have not run into any problems and everyone is growing up so good!

My Buff Orpington Rooster Buddy. He takes good care of the girls!

My barn cat Ford LOVES spending time with the chickens!

I have 6 Buffs (5 hens and 1 Roo), a barred rock hen, a black sex link hen, a RIR hen, and 2 Easter Eggers hens.

Hoping to add a few more this spring!

I took an old bunk bed ladder and set it up on a few 2x4s to lift it up and took an old dresser drawer for the nest box.

I'm going to set that open area on the back side with a flip door with hardware cloth over it.. That way I'll be able to close it during bad weather and the top is slanted with open vent area all along top. This too will have hardware cloth over it. We have to add the skirting and run area but so much rain is keeping us inside.

On that nest box... Is that sand?? How does that work out?? Looking for good, clean way to do it other than shavings. Those pine shavings get messy.

Yes. The flooring is sand. And I have hay in the nest boxes. I LOVE the sand. I can scoop it like a cat litter box. Although, they only really poop in the poop boards now because they are rarely in the coop during the day. But I love the sand. It has worked wonderfully for me so far.
