post your chicken coop pictures here!

What do you guys think? I started with the little orange coop I bought for 300. Then realized I love chickens and built the big one. I was on a tight budget so I kept it simple. I love in S.Florida so I don't have to worry about cold weather. I have hardware cloth on the bottom that goes down a foot. Then chicken wire up to the roof. I made a door to walk in and use hay on the bottom for bedding. I also have a little security camera system I set up so I can get a view north and south with night vision.

On that nest box... Is that sand?? How does that work out?? Looking for good, clean way to do it other than shavings. Those pine shavings get messy.

I have sand in my boxes too. I started seeing the eggs broken a little on the ends from hitting the wood. I actually have some rubber insulation then sand over that. You just have to wipe the egg down with a paper towel. What a nice looking coop Sara has right? So jelous lol

Raccoons can shred chicken wire easily, and they can reach right through it and pull any chicken it gets ahold of to pieces. It's not safe.

Yep :) i'm a first time chicken keeper. I just got my first chicks when my hubby and I bought our house. Converted an old pig barn/stall to the chicken coop and got chickens last march. I read about every article on here before starting and figured sand would be the easiest best option. And so far I've been right. They literally only poop inside when they sleep so I only ever have to scoop the poop boards out (which is mostly PDZ and sand). And I rake and shovel the sand around periodically because it gets packed down sometimes. But it took about 50 bucks for a truck load of sand and I have loved it. It's not dusty, but still just dusty enough that they roll around and dust bathe in it. I can't say enough good things about it. Plus it doesn't hold smell. When my family comes over they can't believe it doesnt smell like anything in there.
