post your chicken coop pictures here!

The Brite Tap combo pkg isn't cheap but we had to decide what chicken expense was the most beneficial to invest in.  After dealing with open bowl waterers with wild bird and chicken poops in them and having to change them out 2 and 3x a day we can finally not worry about dirty water or if the hens knocked over a bowl or if the wild birds are mooching or pooping in the water.  We like the portability of the jugs and easy to carry to a cleaning station and they can be hung up by the handle in a coop if desired.

Well I think that's the way I'm going to go. i don't mind the expense of its best for the girls!

I use a 5 gallon bucket with horizontal poultry watering nipples on the sides and it works out great! They leak and freeze less than vertical and you can out the bucket anywhere since the nipples aren't hanging on the bottom like the vertical. It's also a lot cheaper than the Brite Tap system.

Can you show me a picture? I'm new at all of this so I'm still learning!

Plus I know many schools now teach algebra and other really complicated things really early now.

I home school and will be teaching my daughter multiplication and division next year for 1st grade, she has already nailed addition and subtraction, quite well in kindergarten...

There is so much to learn nowadays you have to start early...

I picked up a food grade bucket for a few bucks at Lowe's and a lid. Gotta be sure to drill a hole in the lid or in the side up top for pressure to release and the valves to work properly.

It's really simple though.

There are threads if you search nipple waterer or horizontal nipple waterer :)

I'll get a picture

Figured out why they werent roosting on the roost. They were roosting on the feed hanger pipe in the large brood pen. Took it and the feeder out, left the water on the ground and came back later to see most of them somewhere on the roost. That also.explained why, all of a sudden, my water and feed dishes were full of poop. Chickens have no respect.....

Now they just need to start sneaking into the coop to eat and drink. They do go in there but i think the hens are intimidating them so they run back out. My bantams had the same problem but they managed to sneak in when the bullies were out in the run. Im thinking about settimg up a covered feed station in the run to make sure they all get enough.

LOL so true Spartan.

And Meep, I remember I think we started that stuff in elementary school so 3-5. But we may have started some earlier not sure. But nowadays so many are already doing fairly advanced algebra by 4th and 5th grade. I don't even know how to do a lot of what they do now. And they keep lowering the age of when they do it or adding more requirements. I always thought it aas getting harder and harder but the last few years they i think changed the CORE and now are doinf stuff even in preschool and kindergarten. It's crazy and really not fair and definitely stressful to kids

How do you keep it from freezing in the winter?
