post your chicken coop pictures here!

I have two coops one made from an old camper and then the one we made this summer, also made a run so they could go from one to the other, we keep the feed in the new coop.

Do you ever encounter having to fish eggs or chickens out from under the coops? I love the bang-up job your DH did on the construction! To discourage our hens from hanging out in the coop all day we set out a couple large doghouses, a popup canopy, a headboard and footboard on cinderblocks, some rose bushes, an old wheelbarrow with a potted rosemary plant, for hiding/snoozing shelters during midday when hens seem to nap - that way we don't get any surprise eggs layed on the coop floor..

Well everyone... It only took an ER visit and 3 days in the hospital to convene my husband to start work on the new coop... He fears that my trying to clean the old coop right now will be to much of a stress for me so he has officially decided to step up. He's got everything needed and plans to start work today... God willing pictures will be forthcoming.

@TJordan That's good to hear. Hopefully you'll have a new coop in no time.

*Edit* I realize I went straight to the chicken stuff, I probably should have started with wishing you a swift recovery and asking about your health.

No that's fine lol... It was the point that it took this to get him to get off his procrastinating butt lol... But thank you. It seems that I've developed an ulcer that threatened to rupture and have been diagnosed with low blood pressure to top it off.. Hence the need for a lower sitting coop that's easier to access.

Yeah, that's not good. Get better soon and tell him to hurry up with the coop, and to do it right or suffer our wraith!!!

Gotta be somebody down in Alabama that could pop in, slap him up side the head and preach the importance of hardwear cloth to him. And then hit him with a Roll Tide as well.

 ...... WAR EAGLES!!!!! No roll tide! He did start the cutting and general layout of the frame today... Then he had to come inside because I started hurting and getting yucky again... Had to watch the kids while I took my meds and rested... But my framework wood is cut out!!! YEAH!!!! Next he has to go get shorter screws because the ones we have are to long... It's ok... At least he did go and get 80 lbs of feed, 50 lbs of scratch, a galvanized trash can to store it in, a feeding troth with cover to place inside or under the new coop, enough hardware cloth to secure the coop itself ( yard will come after we get $) a massive bag of mealworms for extra protein and a vitamin/electrolyte supplement to add to the waterers... All in all.... Big improvement over sitting on his fanny doing nothing...
