post your chicken coop pictures here!

I have 6 hens ... 2 australorps, 2 buff orpingtons and 2 new hampshire reds

Great breeds to put in a mixed flock. I like seeing that you have put assertive equally-sized breeds together. So many chickeneers throw in gentle non-combative breeds like Silkies, Polish or EEs into their mixed heritage flocks and these less combative or smaller breeds can get bullied by the bigger assertive heritage breeds. We've had to re-home so many great heritage breeds like Leghorns and Marans but they became too aggressive, overly mean, or threw their heavier weight around after they passed their pullet stage and reached maturity - some really terrorized our gentle Silkies and Ameraucana. Now that we've researched the non-combative breeds and the assertive breeds we don't mix the two kinds any more, don't get any breeds over 5-lb on the average, and it makes a more equal/balanced pecking order in our backyard flock. I hear nothing but raves about Australorps, and many love their BOs (though they tend to be a broody bunch), and years ago I had a NHR who was a great layer, an independent survivor, a predator-savvy hen, and quickly bonded as a pet. You have a nice choice of breeds put together.

Noticed your chicken pop-door doesn't have a latch to stay open? Wind kept blowing our door shut so we used a cinderblock to keep it open - our coop walls are open wire on 3 sides and there was no way to attach a hook or latch - bungie cords didn't work in strong breezes.
Love your coop colors. I was looking at a coop today with your color combo as the most attractive to me. Many chickeneers like the cute and bold colors but I personally like the soft colors. Very nice.

complete with a fence ...Their Own little place In our yard
Great yard! Add a couple doghouses bedded with straw, or put a couple benches, or planks on cinderblocks around the fence for the girls to snooze/hide under. We have shelters scattered around the backyard so the hens have more than just their coop as a daytime haven. I could see a couple cute benches and a couple big red doghouses trimmed in white to match the coop on each end of your yard - so many possibilities to add cute functionality to the chicken yard! Someday I want to add a Japanese style arched bridge in our yard so the hens have another item to snooze/hide under. I had an old wheelbarrow against our fence and was going to discard it until the hens started using it to sleep under - decided to put our big Rosemary potted plant in it so it added a little beautification to the old barrow and the chickens won't eat the plant!

Beautiful mobile coop! Love the overhanging roof line over the nestbox access. On rainy days park the tractor on pavement or on a slab made of paver stones under a popup canopy or canvas carport - you and your hens will appreciate the cover in inclement weather with no muddy grass to deal with on those days!

very pretty

Lovely build. Can't tell from the photo but is your hardwire buried below the ground to discourage predator diggers? You have a few trees in the background that would make lovely cover for raccoons, hawks, etc. If you free-range you'll need some scattered shelters around the yard - stickery evergreen or rose bushes, benches, Japanese arch bridge, doghouse, etc, so a hen doesn't have to run a far distance to find cover from aerial predators. We recycled a headboard and footboard set on cinderblocks for shelters in addition to a couple large doghouses, and a popup canopy.
