Here's mine! The space around the top has hardware cloth, and we just covered it with plastic for the winter. Dimensions for the entire thing are 16' x 32'.

It gets pretty hot and humid here, over 100 some days. The inside of the coop stays about 7-10 degrees cooler just because of the shade. We also have a lot of shade when the trees leaf out, and we run fans and misters as well.

Hodawg........Thanks! I probably will never re-coop the money for the coop. I built it for 3 reasons. 1. I like country eggs much better than store bought. 2. I enjoy chickens. I had chickens for about 15 years back in the 70's and 80's. 3. I want the fertilizer for my garden and my wife's flowers.
Chicken In Delight......Thanks! I've always been told that I overbuild everything and I did get a bit carried away but I enjoyed building it and yes it's a solar panel. During the process of building the coop I came up with the idea for a auto door opener/closer and built one for it. The solar panel keeps the battery charged that powers the opener/closer.
The coop is in a corner of my garage with a doggie door. I put wood pellets down today as the bedding. One side has deer netting so it lets alot of the light that comes from the window across and the other side with the lattice is hinged (technically the door..nice and wide).
