post your chicken coop pictures here!

First shows the back of the coop with the box drawer open. I put the coop under the front wing of our shed. The ladies get the am and pm sun without being in the heat of the day. Several picts show that I have wire buried around the bottom with pavers lining the perimeter. We have a lot of predators around here. Another picture shows the door of the coop..2 doors. one is the coop's and the second is a door which is actually made from the wood from the front of the shed. So with it closed we can't see the coop from the road at all. Planning to go tomorrow and pick up some construction sand for the flooring. Then set up the waterer and feeder on some pavers inside the coop......then going after my ladies. Only getting about 4 to begin with.

No, I was still working on the roof and door. But, I did finally finish my $40.00 dog house coop which ended up costing quite a bit. I'm trying to teach my grandkids country living including gardening, and cooking from scratch. So, the colors I chose were for them.

Here's our first coop, we just finished it. Details about its construction are on another of my posts.

Here's our coop and run

I bought a used coop with a small in-closed run. We then expanded the coop to include the whole upper area and turned the bottom into to a separate small coop and run. We next enclosed the whole thing, except for the nesting boxes, in a larger run. Now if I have to add a new bird or two I have the area to do that. I still have to put sand down in the run and figure out a way to water my Contorted Hazel Nut tree with out getting water all over. But since the chickens like to eat the leaves or at least are having fun pulling them off, I might not have a tree there next year
