Ok... Anybody ever use PVC pipe as the frame work for the run? I'm thinking it would be light enough to move, durable enough to hold in bad weather but flexible enough to bend with hard winds... Use standard pipe 1/2" and 10' long... Make the run 10' x10' at 6' tall...
I'll break it for support every 3' and use T joint couplings for the frame. Tie straps to keep the wire on it, and 3' tall hardware cloth for critter protection... Forget the husband and his ideas.... I've yet to see the fruits of said ideas...

I can tell you this... My vet used pvc pipe to make portable horse corrals when at horse shows. It was plenty strong to keep a horse in.

Only thing I could think to add is ancurs. Somehow you want to anchor it to the ground so it doesn't blow, over, fall o er get knotted over. Etc.

May e rebar bent at a "J" and drove in the ground with the hook of the j over the pic and the stick of the j drove in the ground 2 feet or so...?????

Made Cat houses out of PVC and chicken wire.... If you stretch the wire tight you dont even have to glue the joints. The tension on the wire holds them all together.

Made a Guinea Brooder the same way.

Just use a dog tie out anchor if its windy... Maybe two.... The kind that screw into the ground.

use PVC schedual 40 its more expensive but very roebust and will last you a long time. Oh and they make corner connectors for it as well.

What I did for the cat enclosure was make six by three panels Just plain old oblong panels... then wired them together to make the cube or rectangle. VERY strong... More expensive to make because its about double the pvc. Nice part about doing it that way is you can break it down to individual panels and those can be used as partitions in the coop or recovfigured for a sic bay....

sorry typing too fast... been writing today.

all my animals have been characters over the years. But i have had horses now since 1967. Way before horse whispering was invented... Did tricks with my then mare too... If clicker training was around back then Id be doing it ... But have always taken the Listen to your horse first approach and learning what they are saying.

Yep Katee is Pedigreed Percheron. Not big enough for the big hitch places. Shes only 17.1 hands. She had a full on brother I found on line who is 19. He is used for Renaissance reenactments. Full battle with shields and armor... Not jousting though. The gal that rides him does it bareback... OY...

I dont ride any more but I do drive and its a blast.

Sounds like she would get along great with our Shrek. he's a big Paint gelding, so she's already bigger than him.

she loves boys... But shes an alpha... so a bit of a bully till eveyone knows HER rules.

I am actually Looking for a companion.. So far goats are the best option

Yeah, Shrek would probably challenge her a bit, but I bet he would get used to the idea that she gets to go into the barn first. Not that he wouldn't be right there to go next.
