post your chicken coop pictures here!

HEY!  NO FAIR!  You have live-in help with your coop build!  :D

LOL!! It took us about a week with the help I got. I think I could have done it in a couple of days without my help :)

Thing is; as far as I'm concerned, this is how every child should remember childhood. My help definitely made the build sooooo much more enjoyable and purposeful.

dirt don't hurt! I would have put in a layer of fencing in on the outside of that buried pressure treated lumber, have it covering that and have it skirted it out a foot or more to discourage the most determined diggers.

I think you could still put an apron on; fan it out 2 feet, and just bury it a couple of inches under the soil around the outside, IF you need to take extra precautions.

It started out with me trying to cut the two gable ends from one sheet of T1-11 on my CNC Router and the resulting gables looked a tad gothic...so I cut the tracery shaped windows straight into the ply and then added trim to the outside, added wire inside and cut perspex scrape for the outside (removable).

Very nice. I see chicken wire and an open top. Do you have raccoons in your area? If so,I would totally enclose it and sturdy up that chicken wire. Really nice set up though.

Thanks! I'm sure we do have raccoons but I've never seen them. Putting up welded wire on the open parts is on the to do list for tomorrow. The plastic vinyl lattice we put on has sturdied it up a bit. The chickens are in the enclosed coop at night. I finally got them to put themselves to bed!

Hey guys". Anyone ever successful hatch a slightly cracked egg before? Viens look good... Great air sack.... Just tiny crack seen when candling. Day 4 yesterday. Pull it?

Never hatched eggs myself but if the shell isn't broken and it looks viable, why not let it take it's course? I suppose the shell is weaker and might more likely break when the hen moves around (unless you are using an incubator then no issue there).

I was going to guess you made the windows

You have good stuff there if you have a CNC router! Not found in the usual handyman's workshop.

I had to look up Perspex. Is it just another brand of Plexiglass (tm)? That stuff sure is expensive, I wouldn't mind finding a cheaper alternative.
