Thanks. We weren't sure where to start or how it would turn out but we love it and we're able to get most of the info. On here. Thanks to BYC we are the proud owners of 4 hens and 2 silver laced pullets....
We repurposed 1/3 of a storage building, behind an unused garage, into a coop. Placed the run along the side of the garage. Our Pyrenees dog lives between 2 coops now. We built a second coop on the other side. We recycled some screen doors and other items to build the coop. We did have to buy some new products, like wire and lattice for the coop and run.
This photo is showing the entrance into the coop for us, with the dog area.
This photo shows the run for the first coop. Running along the garage. We have a door to access the run and we close the poop door each evening.
This is the inside of the coop, nesting boxes are behind me. The roosts are made from 2x2's rounded/sanded. We use the door on the rope to close the poop door when cleaning out the coop. It is not secure enough to protect from predators. We have feeders and water both inside and outside. We have their oyster shells in a rabbit feeder, hanging on the outside in the run.
