The nesting box's are done I just need to finish the doors
And I have not put the windows in yet but the girls free range all day

We decided to go ahead and install wiring in our new coop before we moved the chicks in a couple of weeks. Might be a little harder to work around in there later. Really happy how it turned out. We basically plug the coop in like an RV with a heavy duty 20 amp extension cord that we made. The exterior GFCI outlet coming from the garage is where we get power. We put an outlet and pull chain light fixture in the coop and the run. Plenty of places to plug in deicer, heat lamp or fan when needed.

Great idea. Things generally aren't a problem in June when the sun comes up early and goes down late. You can't always do chicken chores during daylight hours in the winter and you can't leave the chickens without water.

Didn't think about the winter and short days as far as chores go. Really glad we did the wiring now!
