post your chicken coop pictures here!

Well, you know the old saying:

No help ...... NO eggs for you!!!!

Gulp!!! Don't mention the goats or pigs please!!! He's already talking a mini cow!!!

We've had sheep, goats, horses, cows, chickens, geese, and ducks. Never had pigs - too smelly. Believe me, you don't want sheep or goats - they're destructive, rambunctious, honery cusses for all their cute looks. I'll take a couple of miniature cows ANY day (they're herd animals so you can't have just one) plus a couple of actual guard dog breeds to work in tandem to protect the herd (forget the pet variety dogs like Labs - the Ovcharka, Malinois, Sarplininac, Mountain breeds, etc are the best guarding dogs yet family friendly).

Has anyone here expanded their current coop significantly? I have a garden coop and and debating whether I expand via build a second coop, enclose in our run, or build an addition to the coop/run set up.

If you are adding a new flock of chickens I vote for a second coop so the original flock doesn't lord it over the newer chickens. Older chickens can get really nasty toward new members in a flock.

Bet he won't like it... But to bad... I'll have fold down vents on the sides and screening over the bird door to leave open in hot weather... So ok guys... How's this one look.. Keep in mind it's mostly patchwork pieces but that's what I had to work with lol...
The only fun about outside nestboxes is standing in the rain to collect the eggs and trying to keep the rain from dampening the nestbox bedding. We have a drop down lid for collecting eggs and a canopy over the 4x6 coop so we aren't standing in rain. Chickens lay eggs rain or shine.

We have a 10x10 canapy that will go over the nest box side to give extra coverage during rainy weather but still allow the birds to stretch their wings... And keep me dry lol...
