Where I live here on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountain Range in Central Oregon, we get bitterly cold winds. Average during December-February can get down to -20 at times. I do not insulate my coop, and am wondering why you feel the need to do so. Chickens are not humans and do not require a "cozy, warm" place to coop up in. My Black Australorps will do well and I'm not worried....what I do worry about is proper ventilation.Didn't realize that. I'm new to this. Perhaps 1/4 inch plywood, but that gets expensive. Didn't want to run a beat lamp for the threat of a fire. I have Plymouth rock, golden buffs' and rir. Supposed to be cold tolerant.... but to what extent
I sell to my co-workers…easy peasy!
