post your chicken coop pictures here!

Thanks! She is by far the best chick in the flock :) She poo-picked the coop this morning and asked if that could be her job every day, which I was more than happy to agree with! We'll see how long it lasts...

Thank you for all the advice guys! I'll definitely be taking it on board when it comes to making improvements. I did originally plan to have the coop outside the run, the original plan was to buy a cheap coop online and have a pop hole in the side of the run to attach the two, so hubby started to build the run panels and then i changed my mind and decided to use the playhouse. It worked out that the panels were too small to easily attach to the coop without buying more timber and wire and we didn't have anymore money spare, so we just kinda threw it all together with little planning and came up with this! It's working well at the moment but it is going to be a pain cleaning under the thing and walking through chicken poop every morning to fetch the eggs! So when we have the funds I'll try to shake it up a bit and make it better :)
What ever you decide to do. It's still pretty cute! Good job repurposing. I would have done the same.Know all about budgetary constraints.Mine is an ex shipping crate with added roof. The third photo is my favourite. The shine in those eyes says it all!

So many wonderful designs and coops just love looking at them all. Thank you everyone for sharing yours with us.

This is our coop. It's made completely of cedar.
It sits in a 1/2 acre chicken yard to be fenced over the next two weekends.
We plan on trying the deep litter method. We figure the deep mulch method worked so well in our garden, might as well try the deep litter method in the chicken coop.

Nest boxes are designed so that I can move them around inside the coop.
Hi there,
For one thing after having chickens for many yrs. I'd say put a hardware cloth on the floor and elevate the coop off the ground at least 12 inches. Reason poop can fall through and less snake and animal predation. Two better air circulation. Put wheels on the post to move it easily. Your coop is a work of art and is beautiful but its obious that someone built it that has not owned chickens long. They will roost over your egg nest and poop into them. You could face the nest outward and put a top over them much like a droppings board and that would help a lot. Beautiful wood.

Thanks for all the helpful comments. The person who built it has been keeping and raising chickens in this kind of coop here in East Texas for years. Will keep all your comments in mind. We know we will have adjustments to make as time goes by. The coop comes apart very easily into three sections so moving it when we want will not be a big deal. And we can add on to it as we desire or need to.

almost there!
Still to do:

Vertical trim on the run posts.
the top of the run already has hardware cloth, but the trim needs done around the top edge and the corrugated roof goes on. Then I need to install the branch in the run.
Lastly, I need to hang the oyster and grit dispensers inside.

I also have another 5 gallon feeder to build.
