post your chicken coop pictures here!

We just finished our coop!
That roof is AWESOME! I bet the folks who you took all those license plates from are pretty upset though!!

The raised canopy over (on the left) must be to keep govt. drones and satellites from imaging them and tracking you down?

and the thread!

I wish I knew how to build things. We looked at design plans, but they all seemed overwhelming (we have a 13 month old and she keeps us very busy!) We just ordered a cheapo coop kit on line. I know it is going to be cheesy and thin, but it's something to get started. We hope to build something sturdier this summer. For now I am enclosing this in a "cage" type thing made of 2x2's and chicken wire. (I can manage making that) I am afraid predators could get into this. We're also adding hardware cloth to the bottom of the coop yard if it does not have it. I don't think this will be OK in the winter here, so we're going to have to make something better ASAP. This is our first chicken-experience. We are getting 3 from TSC when they get them in.
how many chickens are you planning on putting in this coop

I love seeing everyone's coops and runs. Each is so different and unique.

Here are pics of our coop and run. The coop was an existing shed and we refitted it for the chicks. The run is almost complete, my husband built it from stratch.

Beautiful!

A couple questions - Is the hardwire buried in the ground to keep out digging predators - you've got a woodsy area behind there. Or do you have a cement foundation around the run perimeter?

The hardware cloth is buried down 12". There is also a 12" apron that is also buried around the perimeter. Yes, woods with many predators!
