I have never had an open run or free ranged. Do they not fly out?
I originally covered my run to prevent my bantams from flying out. Never even considred predation. Now i completely enclose the run and leave the coop open to them 24/7. BTW, turkeys are really good flyers. My babies are using the coop to roost and eat now. The pens will be gone in a week or so. Here are a few pics and also the new siding enclosing the end of the run.

Just went out and this is what i saw in the run. I counted 13 and there were 3 in tne coop on the top rung. I have 17 babies so one must have been in the pile and i missed it. None were in the brood pens. Earlier today i looked in the coop and there were several on the perch in front of the nest boxes like they owned the place.

They seem to be getting used to each other and the hens are letting them go in the coop without bothering them
