BB (Baby Barbara): Silkie hen, about a year old, new mother! Her chick is about a week old and we call it BB3 (Baby Barbara 3) or Phoebe.
Rex: Partridge silkie rooster, about a year, aggressive to us but he makes a great rooster, very vigilant and likes to give up his food for the other hens.
The Greys - Dori (after Dorian Grey): Lavender orpington pullet, 22-24 weeks. Biggest chicken of my flock! She seemingly has no tail, which makes her even more unique. Lexi (after the Lexus car brand), Easter egger pullet, 22-24 weeks old. Is very curious and often goes on her own adventures. Her comb got big about 2 weeks ago and I saw the rooster mounting her but we’re still waiting for her blue or green eggs!
The Reds - brother and sister duo Plum(sauce) and Nugget: Plum is a 15/16 week RIR cockrel introduced 2 weeks after we got the flock, he is the most food motivated of them all and will swarm you for scraps. When he runs, it looks like he has a little limp.
Nugget: 15/16 week old RIR pullet, she used to be very cuddly and sit on your shoulder but she’s outgrown that. She hangs around with Plum, also very good motivated but more shy.
And finally, while she doesn’t have feathers she enjoys being with the flock… Cricket!
Cricket: Almost 3 year old, 70lbs Irish Wolfhound, Lab and Mastiff mix. Extremely dog reactive but very smart. We are in training for that and she picks up on stuff very quickly. She loves to be outdoors, playing fetch or wandering around the yard for any chicken food scraps. She’s an amazing girl and Im so glad we got her! (Cricket is my favourite flock member… BB and Lexi tie for a close second!)

Name: Princess
What can I say? She is a little princess❤️. Very naughty and curious.

And this is Mavis. I kind of rescued her when I bought chickens. The woman who sold her gave her to us for free. She had a bald patch on her back and looked sick. After a few weeks of nursing, her feathers grew back and she laid her first egg. Now she is a very happy chicken.

( here she is with Princess)

And this is Dora. She is the most curious and hyper chicken of the flock. She acts like a dog and somehow manages to fly out of the chicken run and free-range in our front yard every day! Both our dog and cat are terrified of her. When she is hungry she simply jumps on the kitchen windowsill or pecks at our front door. She is the smartest chicken I ever met.
