Woohoo!! One of my 22-week-old RIRs laid her first one yesterday. We are all very, very proud!!!

20 wks from *hatch* date.....(I bought them on Feb 27th, so I'm assuming the chicks hatched on Feb 25th) not just one, but TWO first eggs!!! My brother found them in the coop today!!!! They're really small, which is cool, and I hope they get bigger!!! HERE THEY ARE!!!!!!!!!!

I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!! 2 hens down, 24 to go!!!!!

Got the Chicks (RIR's 6ea) 1 March. After reading of other members success I opened up the nesting box yesterday. Today July 18th we got our first egg. At least a month sooner than I had expected. Redneck/PVC Coop

One of our 17 1/2 week old red sexlinks left us a big surprise!!! Its the same size as a store-bought Large egg!

Edited to add: We broke open that egg, and LOOK! Its the one in the middle!! Double Yolk
