Our first egg was a pink from an EE. I wish I had a picture...

We got our first egg on Sunday afternoon, so I am a little late...

I was so excited I almost ran to the coop without my "poop boots" on!! LOL! I believe this came from our Americana, but the following day our Welsummer laid a nice brown one and since then it has been 2 a day!! The white egg in the picture next to the blue/green one is wooden. (We heard this helps to teach them where to lay?) My 5 year old daughter is so excited about this since she has been checking diligently everyday for 4 months. Hard to explain to a 5 year old that they won't lay until they are old enough, but at least she's dedicated!

I FINALLY GOT MY FIRST EGG!!!!!!!! I'M SO EXITED

(Pretty nice for a first egg huh?) it's from my 21 week old wellsummer, terry, and it's 2 inches long. (sorry about all the pictures, it's really only one egg, just lots of pics)

I think this first egg was from one of my Barred Rock girls now I have both BR's and both Reds laying all in the same week!
