Here's are first egg! We have at least 16 more hens, so hopefully everyone will be "earning" their raids on the tomato garden!

We got our 1st egg!

I just posted in sick chicken thread because her butt was red and pulsing and it looked like her insides were coming out. She must have been the one to lay the egg but I have no idea when. it was not there this morning.

I don't know if it was Bossie or Fussie. They are five month old RIRs and the only ones that are old enough. I'm home today so I should find out!

YAY! We got our first egg from our chicks.

We bought 2 Black star laying hens because we were impatient to get eggs. Here is a pict of our RIR's tiny first egg next to the mature BS eggs

my chickens finally laid their first egg at about 20 weeks to the day, unfortunatly they did it while they were roaming the yard instead of in the coup. also, my beagle is much better at finding things than i am so by the time i saw it it was too late. the best picture i could do for my first would be parts of cracked eggshell sometime tomorrow but i doubt anyone wants to see that. maybe i'll show egg #2 instead, i mean my 2nd egg, no pun intended

We got our first eggs this week. I think our chickens are just a little bit older than 4 months. I'm not sure who laid it, though!
