We had started to wonder if our chickens were just NOT going to lay eggs but we got one today! My son (who was in his Halloween makeup, he's not always green) goes out every afternoon to hunt for eggs. Today he found one!

We were worried they wouldn't use the nest box because they spend TONS of time free range, but Nancy did!

She's our oldest, the other two have some more time before I start calling them freeloaders.

My little Sicilian Buttercup, who is supposed to be an ornamental layer, started producing white eggs regularly for me back in September. It was over a month later that a brown egg appeared next to hers, and then a week later a dark brown egg. Today I was excited to find a green egg with the others! I am hoping of my two EEs that one will lay a more blue egg, just for variety.

these are our first two out of our little bantam cochin shes up to 4 eggs in 4 days so far hopefully the others start laying soon
