This is technically my first egg, but 1 hour after my Production Red Bea laid it, her sister Leila laid one of her own. I have the makings of scrambled eggs.

Got my 1st egg this week! My hen is pretty proud and the rest of the flock sure celebrated it! Our younger hens had never seen an egg before.

The 1st!

And then the 2nd egg 2 days later...

These wern't her 1st eggs. Shes 6 months old and we just bought her on Sunday. So they are our 1st eggs.

I have a family of four and we were waiting until we had enough eggs so we could all eat them at once. We got our fifth today and I fried them up. They were small but delicious!

Today our pullet Phoebe laid an egg! We got back from our vacation to Hershey and I went outside to check and I found our first egg EVER! On top of that it was a perfect, fertilized, double yolker!

our first eggs. Wasn't expecting them, the girls are only 4mos old. They were all laid in the coop floor, because I dont have the nesting box open yet. Hopefully the golf ball in the nest box will work.

Yeah, that's a quarter and both eggs are real. If I didn't know any better, I'ld think a pigeon was laying in my nesting boxes! I have a couple OEG banties that are 19 weeks, and SS Hamburgs that are coming up on 17 weeks. I'm not sure who laid it but it definitely wasn't my australorps or D Cornishes. I found the egg below it in the same "nest" - which is really just a shelf in my coop that's about 8ft off the ground. It's about the size egg I'm used to my bantie OEGs laying. I guess if I really want to know who's laying what, I'll have to build some trap nests.
Happy Chicken'ing!
