The egg is the one you see on the right - the cream-colored one. You can see it's much smaller than the commercial White Leghorn eggs sitting next to it.

Looks to be about the size my girls are laying other than the EE whose first (and only so far) was an XL and the Cubalaya which are small. But they are small birds so the biggest I expect from them once they get in the groove is Medium.

Got another first egg this evening, my RIR's very first egg, third from the left! Left to right, Barred Rock, BBR Phoenix, RIR, mutt EE/x/Polish and grocery store large egg.

Nice! Darned close to a full size Large

Your XL looks a lot like the one my EE laid.

Our first dozen from our first two layers, Rocky and Jodie (laid left to right):





Rocky is a Barred Rock and is laying peewee to small eggs. Jodie is a Red Sex Link and went small, medium, large and is now consistently laying large with a couple being extra large and a few more just shy of extra large. They both started laying on November 18th, but Rocky took nine days to lay her six eggs whereas Jodie only took seven! Our other RSL and our Australorp haven't started laying at all, so go figure. Rocky better watch out, I'm already starting to call her Peewee.

Ruby is a barred rock and Camilla and Henrietta are Welsummers...We would like to post what we have on the bottom of our posts but cant figure out how to put a signature on here.

If you click on "my profile" top right of page. Then scroll down a bit & it will say something along the lines of edit signature, add signature, create signature.... sorry can't remember the exact wording.
