Sandywitch, are you just using a webcam or what?

I access it via hubby's account on mydlink.com. He put some kind of camera in there that allows me to move the camera around in there so that I can see anywhere in the coop except right under the camera. He has another one trained on the run, but my laptop wouldn't pick it up, only his.

Oooh, I want one. I have 22 hens ready to lay and I wanna know who is laying. dd is recording all the data and is freaking out. It took us 4 eggs to figure out the last one.

This would help. Thanks.

Our Chickens layer the first eggs Oct 25th. We got 2 eggs and have 18 girls. There has been 2 everyday since. I miss calculated, they are actually 2 days short of 18 weeks. We are very proud parents here in Nova Scotia. The white egg is from the grocery store an XL. Our girls did rather well I think. :)

It amazes me how they talk to things! Our girls tend to "raid the fridge" late at night, so now and then one is on the floor of the coop when their light goes out! She can't see the roost, so she'll wonder around in there "chicken necking" and muttering until she gets enough "echo location" or feedback from the other three girls and they move aside so that she has a nice clear area to fly up to! If she takes too long, one of us goes out and turns the light on until she gets up on the roost and settles in for the night. I know all this because I check them on my laptop via a camera in the coop.
what kind of camera do you use in the coop.

You are so fortunate to have a camera in there. I am afraid I wouldn't get another thing done all day long. :)). I would love to be able to watch our girls and Max.
