I on a whim bought 3 silkies (1.5 yr old hen and her 2 3/4 month old pellets) almost 2 weeks ago and she has laid me an egg at least every other day and then yesterday and today!

We are starting to get 3-4 eggs a day from 5 of our 10 hens, enough to fill up cartons. The other 5 are still too young to lay, but should be laying soon. Here are a dozen. A variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. I know that as they start to lay more frequently, I might expect the eggs to get a little larger, but can the shape and color of the egg be different from the same hen. I've only got 5 hens laying, and sometimes the eggs are different colors or shapes from what has been previously laid. Sometimes it's a mystery trying to figure out who laid what. The laying hens are a 2 yr old EE, a 1 yr old BCM, a 1 yr old EE/RIR mix, a 1 yr old EE/BCM mix, and a 7 month old Black Sexlink.
