From one of Buff Orpington's they are 5 months and few weeks.
This egg showed up Sunday March 22, 09 and we haven't had another one yet! Keepin my fingers crossed

Talk about one proud chicken mom..

LOL I have been waiting for this moment since my girls were born in October. Two weeks ago I found my first egg, but I was so excited we ate it.

My chickens just started laying 12 days ago at about 22 weeks of age.

Here's some of the eggs we've been collecting in the last week and a half:

The darker brown ones are from our barred rock - she layed 12 eggs in 12 days! The large olive-green egg is our easter egger's 4th egg (HUGE double yolker)- the others are her 2nd & 5th. The white ones are from the 2 leghorns. The pale brown egg layer is still a mystery.
