Woohoo We got 2 eggs finally, 1 layed on the 14th of May and then another on the 16th May FINALLY I shouldn't say that really it hasn't been that long since we got the hens. We got them about a month ago. I had stopped looking every day because I thought that they were no going to lay for a while but I was cleaning the coop out and to my suprise our first egg. I didn't know which hen had layed it but over the next week we worked it out to be Dipsy Our Black langsham hen that was the one laying. I'm so proud of her. The kids think its great but my daughter won't eat them because she said its not the same as getting them out of a carton lol She'll come around. Silly teenager.

Silly teenager is right, after you eat fresh eggs - storebought will never taste good again. Congrats - it is so eggciting when the girls start "paying their rent" - yum

Hi - It's me again. We hit the jackpot today - 5 eggs from 5 hens and as you can see one is a monster - double yoke I hope. My adult children are home this weekend for an egg feast!

Dont ask me how.... three at once. I check and clean the nest box daily. I swear that between cleanings, 24 hours, one single hen laid her first three eggs.
