My 8 chickens are 22 weeks old and I found 4 eggs in one nest box yesterday. So excited.

This is not our first egg, but is definitely our largest egg. It is from "Big Red" our Ameraucana/Easter Egger.







Here's Big Red being hand fed when she was just a pullet. Who would have though she'd lay such HUGE eggs?

No matter who it is for anyone waiting on that first egg. This is what they look like when they finally find it after months of waiting. They will look like a 5 year old girl meeting a disney princess that is holding arm fulls of candy and kittens lol you cant help but be giddy. When we found our first egg we took tons of pics and sent text message pictures to every contact in my phone and my husbands thats how ridiculous I was.

I love to see the faces on the first egg pictures. Its great.

Very true! I get the impression that my friends and family are asking themselves why I keep sending them pictures of eggs! I mean, it's not even sending pictures of grandkids or something...it's eggs!

Our First Egg Nov. 30, 2012. It was so tiny from our BR Daisy. The three subsequent eggs have also been small. Hopefully they get larger as she matures.
