Colleen, our production red, should start laying soon. I can't wait to see if I get some big, brown eggs from her.
We also have 10 chicks that are six weeks old, so we've got a bit of a wait for them.

Are your leghorns really large, as in turkey large?Lilly, our White Leghorn laid her first egg on August first. she was 19 weeks old. She has only missed one day in laying one (it was too late in the day, so she laid it the following morning). They are very big, but each one has been perfect and delicious my husband says.

Congrats! Its so exciting isn't it?? We only have one of 9 ladies laying right now...but i keep thinking any day we're going to see two eggs in the box instead of 1. We've gotten 9 eggs from our one laying and the last one was the biggest, so they do get bigger!!
