Post your FIRST EGG pics!

Picked up a pullet from a fellow BYC'er yesterday .. she brought me a little pullet egg that she had recently layed. She was at my place for about an hour and layed another!

Officially "MY" first egg .. here are the two together:

My ameraucana hens FINALY laid their first egg two days ago.I have tons of pics:look at the eggs and then at my paint on my kitchen too!

Here is "Flowers" 1st Egg. She is a Rhode Island Red, six months old. It is our first egg ever!!!

I think it is a large egg but maybe just bragging

It is such a good feeling to walk in the coop and finally find that 1st egg. Wish I had a picture of me when I found it. Can't wait to look for another one tomorrow. I've been telling my four RIR's that I was having Chicken & Dumplings for Christmas Dinner if I didn't get an egg soon. Never did I think they took me serious

UPDATE: It is Christmas morning so we now have FOUR eggs. We just cooked them and the first egg was a double yolker

the other two were her smallest of all. But, very yellow and very tasty

I have been dying to be able to post something on this thread...today I can! Here is our very first egg from one of our black star pullets. The larger egg is from the grocery store. We also got a first egg from one of the other girls today too. I thought this day would never come

My family even played a joke on me a few days ago and put a microwaved store egg in the yard and let me believe it came from one of our girls. I was so mad

but today I am having the last laugh.

So i wasn't expecting this, and just sort of looked in the nest box out of curiosity..

I'm guessing my Production Red, considering this feather was stuck to one.

Next to a duck egg for comparison.. they're so CUTE!

Congrats to everyone!! I can't tell you how excited and shocked I was to find our first egg - my girls are only 5 months old. We didn't expect any egg action until late winter or so..that's why the egg was laid on a ledge, we haven't made nesting boxes yet!

Not sure if this is hers but she was keeping watch over it.

Our first egg!!

Came home tonight and found it in the run. Earlier today when I got home from work one of the girls was in the nest box panting and pretty stressed out. Now I know why!!! Now I just need to get her to lay it in the next box instead of the run!! I can't wait until we get the next one.
