Gee I am so excited; yesterday I gave Trixie, my SLW, a good talking to, because I really felt she was on the verge - and today, right before I went to work ~2 pm, I was closing up the coop windows & lo and behold, this little jewel. I know it musta been her, because my GLW doesn't seem so ready, and the other 4 are EEs and Leghorns.

I feel like such an idiot now. Here is my real first egg from Indigo, watched him lay it today. the other egg was just a small adults egg.

Here's our first egg! Laid by Cutie Pie, our Black Sex Link Hen when she was a few days over 17 weeks old. Amazing!

I just found our first egg. This is our first time raising chickens, and I am so impressed that she laid in in the nest box like she was supposed to. Chickens are so smart!

Placed next to a store bought large egg for scale.
